Died: June 20, 2025 in Peoria, IL
Louis "Mike" M. Tutko, 78 of Streator passed away Friday evening (June 20, 2025) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held Thursday from 4 – 7 P.M. at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery with military honors conducted by members of the Streator and Long Point American Legions and the Streator VFW.
Mike was born on November 30, 1946, in Streator to Louis J. and Eva (Meyers) Tutko. He married Marsha Hjerpe on September 21, 1968. She survives.
Also surviving are, son Brian (Angie) Tutko of Benson, daughter Stacy (Mark) Vandegraft of El Paso, 2 grandchildren, Kayla Tutko and Mason Vandegraft, brother Charles (Ginny) Tutko of Streator and sister Debbie (Dave) Christensen of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Kay Downey and Rose Ann Dutton.
Mike attended St. Stephen's Grade School and Streator High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Mike retired from Vactor Mfg in April of 2010. He was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lazy Acres, Ducks Unlimited and was an outdoorsman, a die-hard Chicago White Sox fan and loved riding his bike.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research or to St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church.
