Died: July 30, 2025 in Ottawa, IL
Patrick Sean Nagle, 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in the home that he dearly loved. Patrick was born on July 23, 1955 to the late Rosemary (Schwarzbach) and Robert Nagle. He is proceeded in death by the love of his life and wife of 45 years, Shelly Sue (Holsinger) Nagle and Mary Lynn & Bill Holsinger, brothers in law Paul & Greg Holsinger, Harold Anson, Hugh Seidman and niece Bree Holsinger.
Left to cherish his memory and live in his honor are his children Jeremiah Patrick (Stefania Luke), Casey Joseph (Cicelie Hayes) and Carly Anne Nagle and his Grandchildren Jack William, Oakley Patrick, Tucker Patrick & Christine Sue Nagle and Illiana Luke.
Patrick was the 4th oldest child in the family. He will be loved eternally and missed deeply by his siblings Anne Anson, Maureen Nagle, Robert & Mary Carol Nagle, Kevin & Debbie Nagle and Sharon and Larry Szymanski. Also experiencing the loss are Shelly's sisters who are very
special to Pat, Sherry Holsinger and Jayne Holsinger.
His many nieces and nephews are very special to him and they will all miss him greatly. The greatest gift he gave them was listening to many stories from his life with his Irish humor shining through.
Patrick was a member of Pipefitters Union 597 and retired after an amazing career which included work on nuclear power plants in Illinois.
Patrick moved to Mishawaka, Indiana with his family in 1966 and returned to live in Ottawa with his young family in 1981. Pat was an outstanding athlete. He played baseball at South West Little League, a park he helped build alongside his father. He played football, basketball and baseball at Marian High School where he graduated in 1973. Pat is, to this day, a legendary member of the B & G construction fast pitch softball team. The players on this team became and remain family. Pat also played flag football with the "Basker Bears" and was known for his incredible athletic talent on the field.
Patrick was an avid reader, loved to fish and enjoyed every hole of golf he ever played. He loved Notre Dame football and spent many Saturday's in South Bend cheering on the Irish.
Pat's greatest love and legacy was his marriage to Shelly. They loved to travel to small towns for getaway weekends, enjoy dinners out together and collect their many antiques that still fill their home today. Pat & Shelly loved puzzles and would spend many winter days together completing them. On one of their drives in the country, Shelly admired an abandoned chicken coop on a piece of land and Pat made her wish come true by having it delivered to their farm and set it up for Shelly to use as a potting shed. The beautiful gardens, plants and landscape at on their property are a tribute to the love and support they shared with each other.
Although Pat and Shelly moved to Ottawa in 1981, they remained extremely close with friends from Mishawaka. They traveled back and forth to ensure those relationships would endure and indeed they have. Those friends continue to be a blessing for Pat and his family.
