Born: June 12, 1957 in Ottawa, IL
Died: July 8, 2024 in Marseilles
Philip Scott Carretto, 67, of Marseilles, IL, passed away on July 8th, 2024 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Patrick's Church on Friday, July 12th at 10:00AM, with Monsignor Meridian officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 11th from 4PM-7PM at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at The Knights of Columbus directly after the graveside service.
Philip was born June 12th, 1957, in Ottawa, IL, to Philip and Lois (Bonges) Carretto. He married the love of his life JoAnn Vicich on January 8th, 1994 at St. Patrick's Church.
He graduated from Marquette High School in 1975. He owned Ted's Carpet Care a business which specialized in cleaning carpets for over 30 years. Philip was very passionate about bowling, he bowled in tournaments all over the country. His favorite baseball team was the White Sox and he enjoyed Nascar. In his free time, he loved to golf, to gamble, attend concerts, listen to music, and watch old western films. His family meant the world to him.
He is survived by his siblings; Deborah Harke (Eric & Hedi, daughter Octavia) Stephen Carretto, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Carretto (Zachary & Katie), (Katie's sons Payton and Ace). Carrie (Timothy) Orr (Tom & Madeline), Christine English (Mikaela)- family members; Patty (Larry) Hake, Joe (Nadine) Vicich, Adam, Kate, Jacob, Zoe, Gabriel, Brett, Shannon, Wyatt, Josie Hake. LeighAnn (Andrew) Knopinski (son Dean), Melissa, Shannon, Andrew, Evan Ristau, Jeremy Grieves, Claire, and Joey Vicich.
Philip was preceded in death by both his parents; his wife JoAnn; brother Michael; brother in-law Gary English; Anna Mae, and Ray Vicich.
Pallbearers will be Adam Hake, Brett Hake, Andrew Knopinski, Joey Vicich, Bob Carretto, and Zachary Carretto.
Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church or Marquette Academy.
