Ronald Eugene Burke, passed away on Sept 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of life will take place at 12pm on Friday, Sept 23, 2022 at Praise Center in Ottawa. Visitation will take place on Friday at Praise Center from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Mueller Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Ronnie was born on October 6, 1942, to parents Robert and Ruth (Plate) Burke. He attended Ottawa Township High School and later joined the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He married Beatrice Ruiz on March 23, 1963 in Oglesby IL. Ronnie was a Laborer with Local 911 where he worked for Hulse Plumbing and Heating. He then owned and operated Ronnie's Tap for many years. He made the best popcorn, loved to cook and equally loved grocery shopping for the ingredients! For years, he enjoyed his trips to Puerto Vallarta, MX with Bea and fly-in fishing in Red Lake, Ontario CA with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Beatrice; his children, Jeffrey (Janice) Burke, Laura (Tom) Donnelly, Cara (Randy) Jacobs, and Jeanine (Larry) Foley. Sisters; Teasa (the late Phil) Sheridan, Karen (Wally) Griglione and Kathy (David) Hulse.
His loving grandchildren; Jaclyn Hanly, Matthew Jacobs, Jason Donnelly, Lindsay Proudfoot, Jonathan, James, Adam and Ryan Donnelly, Maria Foster, Joseph Burke, Jenna Karun and Kyle Foley.
His great grandchildren; Emilia and Isabel Proudfoot, Annalise Donnelly, Leighton Hanly and Jack Karun. A godson Joey Herrera, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Kevin, son Darren Eugene (in infancy); and grandson Tim Donnelly.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Stoudt, Larry Johnson, David Reuben Brue, Leo Johnson, Mike Shanley, Mickey Ruiz, Jason Herrera and Lu Streicher.
Ronnie will be remembered for his quick wit and humor and the love that he had for his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
