Born: October 17, 1978 in Spring Valley, IL.
Died: February 13, 2025 in Peoria, IL.
Samuel V. Sankovich, 46, of Peru passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 20th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 20th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Born October 17, 1978 in Spring Valley he was the son of John and Beth Anne (Panno) Sankovich.
He is survived by his parents, John and Beth Anne Sankovich of Peru; a brother, Todd (Laura) Sankovich of Florence, Italy; a niece, Erika Sankovich of South Hampton, England; his beloved dog, Panno and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sam and Edith Panno and his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Sankovich.
Raised in Peru Sam graduated from LaSalle- Peru High School. After high school he attended San Antonio College and later graduated from Western Kentucky University.
Sam managed several student housing locations through the years in Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri and Florida before returning to Peru. He later worked in hotel management for Best Western in Oglesby and the Fairfield Inn in Ottawa. He was currently assisting the family business of John Sankovich, CPA.
Sam was a big baseball fan and loved the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was also a member of the Oglesby Elk's Club and was currently serving as the Exalted Ruler.
Memorials may be directed to the Gift of Hope.
