Wayne Ivan Bagwill, 85, of Sheridan, IL passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025. He was born February 14, 1939 in Sandwich, IL the son of Ivan and Lois (Claude) Bagwill. He graduated from Somonauk High School in 1956. He married Madeline M. Willis on July 21, 1961 in Sandwich, IL at the Federated Church. He was a member of the Union Congregational Church in Somonauk, IL. Wayne and Madeline owned and operated Bagwill TV & Hardware in Somonauk for over 32 years. He had a lot of hobbies over the years including hunting, go-karts, rockets, and remote-controlled airplanes. He got his pilot's license and built two experimental airplanes. He loved to build antique cars and model trains. He built a lot of projects for family, and later found a love for genealogy. He is survived by his wife, Madeline; three daughters, Christina Bagwill of Sheridan, IL, Kimberly (Matt Adrian) Bagwill of Paso Robles, CA, Susan (Pete) Dell of Sandwich, IL; one son-in-law, Allen Morton of Sheridan, IL; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way, as well as several nieces and nephews. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Pamela Morton; one sister, Trudy Oseid. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Union Congregational Church in Somonauk, IL with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Bourke officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Olmstead Museum and Somonauk Education Foundation.
