Deweese, NE resident Adrian J. Gruntorad, 79, was called by our Heavenly Father to be his angel on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, NE. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the church with Father Denton Morris officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Martin (Loucky) Cemetery near Deweese, NE. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later. Adrian was born on March 7, 1946, in Nelson, NE, to Rudolph and Helen (Maixner) Gruntorad. He received his high school diploma from Nelson High School in Nelson, NE. Following high school, Adrian enlisted in the Navy as a Seabee. After he was honorably discharged, he married Colleen Nowka on April 27, 1968, in Harvard, NE. He explored several jobs before he found his love in farming- specifically donkeys. Adrian enjoyed taking care of his livestock and harvesting the fields. Adrian was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese, NE. His hobbies included fishing, watching western films, polka, and spending time with his family. Adrian is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Phillip Fuchs, of Oxford, NE; his two grandchildren, Daniel Fuchs, of Oxford, NE; and Matraisha Fuchs, of Indianapolis, IN; his sisters, Mildred and Celie; his sister-in-law, Miriam Gruntorad, of Ordway, CO; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his in-laws, Ray and Fern Nowka, and his brother, Marian Gruntorad.
