Neal Eric Justin, a distinguished professor, talented entrepreneur, and devoted family man, passed away on July 2, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 89. Born on May 9, 1936, in Argyle, New York, "Doc" Justin’s life was marked by a deep commitment to education and a passion for business.
"Doc" earned four degrees and eight majors from esteemed institutions, including the Florida Southern College, American Grad. School for International Management (Thunderbird) and University of Arizona. His dedication to knowledge not only shaped his career but also influenced countless students and colleagues throughout his tenure as a Professor and Administrator at the University of Arizona and Florida Atlantic State University. He was a specialist in Cultural Anthropology, Education and Bio Anthropology. He was also a candidate for U.S. Senator in Florida.
Beyond academia, "Doc" was known as a successful Water Theme Park and RV park owner. He exemplified the traits of a good businessman—intelligent, humble, and exceptionally kind. His vibrant personality, characterized by a sharp wit and generosity, made him a beloved figure among friends and family. "Doc's" contributions extended beyond the charities of all kinds; he authored several books, including “America First” and “How to Live 100 Healthy Years,” both available on Amazon. He also produced a documentary titled “Quest of Treasures in Mexico and South Central America,” showcasing his love for travel, exploration, creation and had a passion for all.
"Doc" served his country as a training officer for the United States Airforce, an experience that further demonstrated his dedication and commitment to serving others. He carried this sense of service into every aspect of his life, earning the admiration and respect of those who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 29 years, Christine Hanh Justin; his children, Mark (Jim) and Holly Justin (Scott); nieces and nephews; Linda, Roy, Russel, Rita and Joyce Justin; his precious sister-in-law Nikki Khue Nguyen; his brother-in-law John Nghia Nguyen and his wife Vanessa along with their children, Erik Nhan and Sophia Nhu; and his nephew, Tim Thien Pham and his children Kim and Nhat, and his wife Huong Vo. Additionally, he leaves many cherished friends who will remember him fondly for his humor, generosity, and exceptional knowledge.
Dr. Neal "Doc" Justin's legacy of love, education, and community service will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing him. His intelligence and warmth will be deeply missed by family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Chapels, 2580 S. 6th Ave., Tucson, AZ. The family asks that you please do not send flowers or give donations.
