John "Jack" Howell, age 59, of Stoutsville, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1965, in Youngstown, son of the late, Larry and Susan (Paxton) Howell. He was a graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School, class of 1983. He was employed by E.C. Babbert for over 36 years, where he earned three certificates through the American Concrete Institute. Jack was a member of the Fairfield County Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed NASCAR and fishing. He loved all kinds of music. He made the best homemade pizzas. He enjoyed farming and most importantly, he loved to tell a great story.
He is survived by his children, Heather (Brandon) Morningstar, of Circleville, J.D. Howell, of Nashville, TN, and Sarah Howell, of Stoutsville; grandson, Declen; brother, Larry Howell Jr.; sister, Marsha (Glen) Garrett, of Amanda. He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved dog Cody and his "grand pup" Sammie.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2025, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Harter Cemetery, Hanibal, OH. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the funeral home.
