A B Lockstead, age 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away gently and peacefully in the early morning hours of April 18, 2025, with loved ones by his side.
Born in Pensacola, Florida, on January 18th, 1940, he was the cherished son of William Talmage and Ruth Rose (née Ladwig) Lockstead. A B was a master woodworker and an avid fisherman. He was a proud member of the Northern Kentucky Fly Fishers and found great joy in time spent on the water. He also had a deep love for bluegrass music and played both the banjo and guitar.
A lifelong sports fan, A B cheered passionately for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Florida Gators, and rarely missed a “good” football game. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida and was widely regarded by his peers as a brilliant mind in his field.
He is fondly remembered by his beloved son, Alex Lockstead (Vivian Dianne); his grandsons, Dillon and Nicholas Lockstead; his sister, Milda Castleberry and the love of his life, Sherry Schutter; her son, Tim Hamblin, and daughter, Tammy Phillips. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Rose (Roger) White.
To honor A B’s life and his example of love for God and family, a visitation will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211, on Tuesday, April 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service.
