Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 24 to Mar. 1, 2024.
Award-winning architect Armand Russell Versaci died near his home in Antigua, Guatemala, on February 1. He was 75 years old.

A longtime resident of Waterford and Round Hill, VA, Russell worked at Dewberry & Davis in Washington D.C., before co-founding Versaci Neumann & Partners in 1985, and Russell Versaci Architecture in 2005. Russell was uncompromising in his commitment to authenticity, and his signature home designs were regularly featured in the pages of Washingtonian Magazine and Southern Living. Russell wrote two books on traditional home design: Creating a New Old House and Roots of Home, and in 2015, was awarded the A. Hays Town Award for excellence in Southern Architecture.

Russell is survived by his son Dudley Versaci and his wife Carly, his grandson Armand Valentino "Val" Versaci, and his siblings Lisa, Lori, and William. A. Russell Versaci
