Aaron Pepin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 29, 2024.
On Sunday, March 24, 2024, Aaron G Pepin, "Pep", passed away unexpectedly at age 51.
Aaron was born in Brunswick, Maine on August 17, 1972, to Gerald and Christina (Viger) Pepin. He grew up on Beacon Street in Bath, Maine, attended Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1990. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Army where he served for 2 years, after which he remained active in the Army Reserves for an additional 5 years. During his time in the Reserves he also attended the University of Southern Maine for a short period of time. In 1992 he relocated to St. Augustine, Florida where his restaurant journey began. He managed several of St. Augustine's favorite local hot spots: The Oasis, The Conch House, Zhanras, Sunset Grille, and South Beach Grill just to name a few. Aaron then decided to make a career change and became a licensed Realtor. He embarked on his journey starting at Waston Realty and transitioned to Sunshine Realty. In 2019 he became a member of the Publix Super Markets family, where he quickly worked his way up to Assistant Deli Manager.
On November 19, 2022, he married the love of his life, Mary Kay Burridge and proudly became father to Mary Kay's beloved dog, Charlie.
Aaron left an indelible mark on those who knew him. He was a man of remarkable intelligence who had a profound passion for history and documentaries. That passion, along with his unwavering support during trivia nights, reflected his eagerness to share his knowledge and sustain camaraderie. As a devoted fan of the Red Sox and the NFL teams, The NE Patriots and Jax Jaguars, Aaron cherished the thrill of sports alongside his closest friends, creating treasured memories with each game they attended. His enthusiasm for music led him to countless concerts, where he crossed off nearly every artist on his extensive list. Additionally, Aaron's love of travel took him and Mary Kay on unforgettable journeys across the United States and culminated in a memorable honeymoon in Italy, where they mastered the art of pizza making together. With his quick wit, infectious smile, and compassionate nature, Aaron touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and warmth. He will be deeply missed by his adoring family and friends.
Aaron was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Pepin, his mother, Christina Viger and his sister, Erica James. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Pepin of St. Augustine, Florida, his Uncle, Steven Pepin and partner Judy McIver of Bridgton, Maine, his stepmother, Gail Donahue Pepin of Bath, Maine, a step-brother, Benjamin (Hannah) Kilburg of Towson, Maryland, niece, Hollis James, nephew, Peyton James, brother-in-law James "Jim" James of Georgetown, Maine, Aunt Eileen (Joe) Walker of Dickson, Tennessee and Aunt, Janine Archibald of Dixfield, Maine.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11:00am at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 5202 A1A South, St. Augustine, FL 32080. Contributions in his memory can be made to K9s for Warriors – donate.k9sforwarriors.org.
