It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Aaron Francis Runyon, who passed away unexpectedly at his home in Moberly, Missouri, in the early morning hours of July 19, 2025. He was 47 years old.
Aaron lived a life marked by creativity, depth, and unwavering love for his family. A gifted artist and talented guitarist, Aaron expressed himself through music and painting, often using his work to reflect the thoughts and emotions he carried so deeply. Those who knew him recognized not only his talents, but also his thoughtful nature, quiet strength, and fierce loyalty. He was a devoted husband to Karen Runyon and a loving father to his daughters Kathryn Runyon, Kristen Rutherford, and Kayla Rutherford. Aaron took pride in being present, supportive, and dependable—always putting the needs of his family first. His daughters knew him as a steady source of comfort and wisdom, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. Aaron will be remembered for his wisdom, his depth of character, and the way he made people feel seen and valued. He had a calming presence and a heart full of compassion. Whether through a thoughtful conversation, a helping hand, or simply sitting in silence with someone who needed it—Aaron had a way of making people feel less alone. His absence is deeply felt, and his memory will be treasured forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Catherine Runyon and Joseph A. Runyon; and his sister, Cathy Jo Runyon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Runyon; his daughters, Kathryn Runyon, Kristen Rutherford, and Kayla Rutherford; his brothers, Joey E. (Kathy) Runyon and James A. (Shannon) Runyon; as well as extended family and many dear friends who will carry his memory with them always.
