Aaron Orville Sather

Forsyth Township- Aaron Sather, 66 of Gwinn, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at his home.
Aaron was born in Marquette on July 28, 1959, the son of Orville and Emma (Willette) Sather, Aaron was raised in Gwinn, where he graduated from Gwinn High School. After graduation, he decided to venture beyond the U.P., spending several years in Minnesota working on a farm before returning home to Gwinn in 1980. Upon his return, he began working as a custodian for Gwinn Public Schools, a position he held with dedication until his retirement in 2012.
In 2010, Aaron married the love of his life, Lori (Sam) Normand. The two shared many happy years together until her passing in 2015.
Aaron was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and spending time surrounded by nature. He was known for his quick wit, stubborn streak, and good-natured sense of humor. A true animal lover and the life of any gathering, Aaron was kind-hearted and generous, the sort of man who would give you the shirt off his back. Above all, he was a devoted family man who cherished those he loved.
He is survived by his son, Justin Sather of Gwinn; grandchildren, Jensen Sather and Anessa McGuire; and sister, Susan Fosterling, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lori; son, Ryan Sather; brother, Edward Sather; and sister, Julie Jacob.
