Aaron Sinta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home & Crematory - Historical Downtown Chapel on Dec. 16, 2022.
Aaron Christopher Sinta, age 21, of Aurora, IL passed away surrounded by his loving family following a 2.5 year battle with cancer on December 12, 2022.
Aaron was born in Anaheim, CA. on March 20, 2001. He is survived by his parents Chris and Lindsey (nee Cathey) Sinta; siblings Kenzie and Ryenne; grandparents Leigh (Deece) Cathey, Susan Sinta, and Donald Sinta; uncle Larry Cathey, Craig Cathey, Bryan Cathey, and Blair Sinta, aunt Brittney (Beebs) Cathey, and Marian Sinta; cousins Griffin Cathey, Maxon Cathey, Kieran Sinta, and Everett Sinta.
Aaron is a timeless soul, with a deep passion for life, love, and sports.
He was the epitome of a Gentle Giant. An introvert at heart, but would try anything just to spend an extra moment with his friends and family, which would extend far beyond what we could ever imagine.
Aaron began chasing his dreams of being a NHL hockey player at the age of 3, when he put on his first pair of skates. For the next 15 years, Aaron logged thousands of miles on the ice and across the country, traveling to various hockey tournaments. Throughout these years, Aaron quickly became a Gretsky of his own. What he lacked in skill, he made up for in his ability to lead his teams with joy and a passion for the game. Aaron's proudest life moments are sewn into his Oswego Hockey letterman jacket.
After a few short minutes of knowing Aaron, you know that he was more than just a hockey fan. Aaron was a sports savant. He was an encyclopedia of all things sports, past and present. Aaron dedicated his 21 years of life to watching his beloved sports teams, the Anaheim Ducks and the Michigan Wolverines with his dad. Instead of watching pre and post game interviews, the two would discuss what they would do if they were the coaches. And if his dad wasn't around, he would debrief with himself anyway.
On his off days, Aaron loved watching the Food Network with his mom. It didn't matter if he had watched the same Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives episodes a thousand times - he was a mama's boy and he would watch it a thousand times more if it meant getting to hangout a little longer.
Aaron was a film buff, but most of all loved quoting some of his favorite movies with his sisters which included Wedding Crashers, Get Smart, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Aaron loved vacationing in Lake Arrowhead, CA, where he got to spend time swimming in the lake and hiking with his extended family.
His most special skill was his ability to bring people together. Our hearts will forever hold the shape of an Aaron-sized hole, but he will never be forgotten. We will always have a shared memory of his unconditional love.
A Celebration of Life will be held after the holidays with more details to come.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Aaron's name may be made to either charities who provided Aaron with support and inspiration:

The V Foundation for Cancer Research: https://www.v.org/
Aaron's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to his dedicated team at Rush University Medical Hospital who fought fearlessly alongside Aaron. While Aaron's earthly time has come to an end, we will continue his legacy by sharing his story and cherishing the memories we hold. It is our hope that Aaron's story will provide research and resolution to future cancer survivors. Special thanks to family, friends, and neighbors who supported and loved us through this journey.
The family has created this Life Tributes page to make it easy to share your memories, photos, and videos.

Aaron was a great teammate of mine for a few seasons. I´ll always remember his passion and performance that he brought to the game. He was one hell of a player. I´ll always remember his fast and hard shot he had at a young age, he was the one player I struggled most stopping. Being his goalie was awesome watching him dominate the ice, but the friendship created was even better. Rest in peace #21, wish we had more time together.

So sorry for your loss. My son played hockey with Aaron for the U15 Geneva Cyclones. Aaron was a great player and teammate. Youth hockey creates a tight knit community, and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
