Aaron Taylor

It is with heavy hearts that we come together to remember and honor the life of Aaron Armon Taylor, who passed away too soon at the age of 37 on December 28, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Aaron had a bright spirit and touched many lives with his kindness and energy. Aaron was born on March 2, 1988, in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in the same neighborhood where he played as a kid and loved sports, including baseball, track, and football. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2006, where he made lifelong friends and memories.

Aaron enjoyed working and always found ways to make people smile. He especially loved his time working at Popeyes, where he shared laughs and free meals with others. He also spent time detailing cars and took pride in doing a good job.

Family meant everything to Aaron. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was always there to help when someone needed him. He enjoyed traveling, watching WWE Smackdown, eating at buffets, and simply having fun. Aaron was generous, caring, and always ready to lend a hand.

Aaron leaves behind his children, Joshua Harris and Avonna Walton; his father, Willie Taylor; stepmother, Denise Taylor; siblings LaKesha Taylor, Onterio Taylor, Jeremy Amerison-Smith, Jennifer Amerison-Smith, Quentin Taylor, Asia Taylor and Cierra Taylor; grandmothers Dorothy James and Diane Martin; a host of nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles plus plenty of cousins and friends

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cassandra Jones; sister, Deondra Jones; grandfather, Willie James; grandmother, Velma McMurray; and great-grandmother, Cora Carr.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church in Des Moines. A HomeGoing Celebration will follow, led by Pastor Dr. Bobby Young. Burial will be private for the family. While we grieve his loss, we also celebrate Aaron's life and the love he gave to so many. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Hendersons Funeral & Cremation Care is honored to serve the Taylor family during this time.
