Aaron Whitaker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DW Brooks Funeral Home on May 31, 2023.
Aaron Whitaker, a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas took his last breath peacefully on his daughter's 32nd birthday, May 27th, 2023, at 7:44 pm. Born on August 14, 1953, to Elmo and Dorothy Whitaker, Aaron was a beloved son, brother, father, husband, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Aaron affectionately known as "Whit" and "Bo" attended Sam Houston High School. Not long after, Aaron decided his calling would be to serve his country in the United States Army.
Aaron was a family man that enjoyed every moment with his family and friends. He is survived by his Wife, Brenda Joyce Whitaker, Brother, Reginald (Reggie) Whitaker, Daughter, Brittany Joyce
Whitaker, Son-in-law, Rapheal Johnson, Grandchildren Jayce and Jade Johnson, and Niece, Iesha Miller, along with countless other family and individuals that became like family to Aaron. He was proceeded in death by his father Elmo Whitaker, Mother, Dorothy Marie Whitaker, Brother Rochester (Roy) Whitaker, and Sister, Marian Whitaker.
Aaron was a vibrant and happy man. He enjoyed detailing vehicles, drinking an ice-cold Budweiser, laughing with friends, and family and more than anything spending time with his grandbabies. Aaron's humor and ability to make people laugh until it hurt are truly what made him such a great man. Aaron was known for his selflessness. He would go out of his way to help someone in need. Aaron enjoyed watching action movies all day long and eating good food.
Today is a day we celebrate the man we all knew and loved with smiles, laughter, and hugs. "Don't you cry over me, remember me as I was" is what he would say while preparing us all for this day. You will forever be "Papa","Uncle Aaron", ''Bo","Daddy'', "Pops" and "Whit". Gone from us but never forgotten.
Aaron's life will be celebrated with a gathering of all his family and friends to share stories, laughter and memories of the man who touched us all in some way throughout his life. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the overflow of love and support they have received during such a difficult time.
Aaron's memory will live on in the hearts of all whom he touched.
