Abby Jo Clement was born on July 17th, 1991, in Aberdeen, SD, to her loving parents, Don and Jody Clement. She was welcomed home by a very excited big sister, Erin, and her big brother, Brandon.
Abby attended grade school, middle school, and high school in Faulkton. She was a friend to all and formed some very special bonds with several of her teachers. Pam Hutchinson, Michelle Kathner, Chad Spicer, and Joy Scheller were all very special to Abby. Abby graduated on May 22, 2011. Following her graduation, she continued a lifelong friendship with some of those teachers who were close to her heart. They would have tea parties, pizza parties, go out for supper, and enjoy one another's company. Abby was always up for a good party. She would often plan pizza parties at the Faulkton Area Medical Center with those who had worked with her. Abby was sort of a VIP patient at the facility due to her frequent visits, spunky personality, and the happiness she brought, even if things were hard.
Abby was Baptized, received Holy Communion, and Confirmed at St Joseph's Catholic in Orient, SD. Abby loved living her entire life in her little village of Orient. There was not a person Abby crossed paths with that did not leave with a smile on their face, an incredible hug, and joy in their hearts. She was the epitome of a social butterfly; there was no such thing as a stranger to Abby. If you saw her out and about, you would get rapid fire questions such as How are you, How are your kids, or How is work. Abby enjoyed hearing about how everyone was doing because she had so much love for them.
Abby's greatest joys in life were the simplest of things. She loved going for rides- especially when the wind could blow in her hair in a ranger or convertible. She was a huge fan of lip gloss, hand sanitizer, perfume, dresses, chips, and Diet Coke! In her spare time, she would play games on her tablet, visit with people on Facebook or through text, and read books. She also loved music; you could walk into the house any time of the day, and the tunes would be blasting, you never quite knew what genre would be on because she really had no preference. Abby loved nothing more than babies; it did not matter whose baby it was, she wanted to hold and love on them. Her favorite hobby was running around with her mom and dad to watch her beloved nephews and niece in all their activities. It was another way for her to get out and socialize.
In the past couple of years of her life, Abby was involved in a program called LifeQuest. It has been life changing for her! She met some incredibly special ladies: Shelby, Alli, and Bekah. They have become like family, holding a very special place in not only Abby's heart but our family's hearts as well. Their love and care that they have shown us will never be forgotten.
Those left behind to miss Abby include her loving parents, Don and Jody Clement (Orient); big sissy, Erin (Kevin) Stark; nephews, Korbin, Karson, and Kashon; one niece, Ensley; and Godparents, Sue Degeest and Russ Eaton. She is also survived by a large and extremely special extended family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins who brought her great joy and happiness.
She was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her brother, Brandon Lee Clement; sister, Kristina Lynn Clement; paternal grandparents, Louis and Dolores Clement; maternal grandparents, Otho and Dolores Eaton; and cousins: Levi Clement, Alexi Clement, and Baylor Stelk.
We would like to thank all of Abby's special friends for all they did to make her life better. Thank you to LifeQuest, you have loved and cared for Abby like she was one of your own. Thank you to our village and the Orient community, who have been a source of constant love and support over the years.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Abby's arrangements.
