ABDALLAH KANDIL

ABDALLAH KANDIL, age 93 born in Beirut, Lebanon, on February 9, 1933, passed away peacefully in Cleveland on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Beloved husband of Actibin Richa Ghosn for 58 years; loving father of Maya (Jehad) Sahlani, Nada (Rony) El Saidi and Hala (Claude) Abi Atme; dearest grandfather of Marc (Lauren), Daniel (Alex) and Sarah Sahlani, Jean Marie, Jerome and Yara El Saidi, Ryan and Sasha Abi Atme; great-grandfather of Luca Sahlani; son of the late Salim and Adma (nee Khouri); brother of Adnan (Rima) Kandil, Afaf (Izzat) Soukaria, Leyla (Yanni) Klitiras and the late Mary (Nasri) El Khouri, Ivonne (Elias) Nasrallah, Rose (Elias) Nasrallah, Aziza (Joseph) El Sayegh, Nahia (Elias) Chekieh and Izzat (Nadira) Kandil; beloved uncle, great-uncle and dear friend of many in the United States and Lebanon. Abdallah was a lover of life. He loved to live life to the fullest and was the life of his family’s parties. He enjoyed playing cards and backgammon with his son in laws, nieces, and nephews. He had a quick wit, a sharp mind, and a love for Lebanon and Arabic music, especially Fairuz. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather and was proud to always celebrate the accomplishments of his family. He lived a full life, always surrounded by faith, family, and friends. He will be deeply missed. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maron Church, 1245 Carnagie Ave., Cleveland, Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 11 a.m. Please meet at church.
