RUEDA, Abel - Age 50, of Warren formerly of Flushing, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2316 Coldwater Road, Flint. Fr. Tom celebrant. Burial at Flushing Cemetery, Flushing, MI. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday & 1-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, Swartz Creek, MI ; and at church Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home Friday at 7pm. All expressions of sympathy; including flowers and/or those desiring can also make memorial contributions to Abel’s son, Santiago Abel Rueda; are deeply appreciated.
Abel was born May 21, 1975 in Flint, the son of James Torres and Maria E. (Quintanilla) Rueda. He was a 1994 graduate of Flushing High School. He had resided in Warren for the past 8 years coming from Davisburg and Flushing. He was employed by the Chrysler Warren Truck Assembly in Warren. Abel was a member of the U.A.W. Local # 140. He was a former member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Flint. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, dancing, singing Karaoke, eating tamales with family especially on Christmas Eve and most of all watching his son, Santiago playing wheelchair basketball. Abel was a huge San Francisco 49ers fan.
Surviving are: his son, Santiago Abel Rueda of Statesville, NC; parents, James and Maria Rueda of Flushing; sister, Drea Rueda of Pontiac; brother, Rey Rueda of Flushing; nieces and nephews, Jonas, Natalya, Lucio, Marisa, Noah, Sophia Rueda and Jaymeson Rodriguez, several aunts, uncles, cousins and Godson Marcus Rodriguez.
