Abigail Burrell Lloyd was born on August 9, 1952, in New Orleans, La to the late Julia Burrell. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She later joined Church of Christ under the leadership of Bro. Green in which she felt compelled to be baptized again. Abigail was educated in the Orleans Parish Public School System. She was the loving mother of her only son Ricky Coleman and the loving wife to the late Eric Lloyd. Abigail was raised by her aunt Pearl Lee Jones after losing her mother at an early age. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Ricky Coleman, daughter-in-law; Shanell J Coleman, grandson; Ricky Joseph (Ranesha), great-grandchildren; Sabah, Alani and Ariyah; siblings: Renee Brown (Raymond), Kenneth Ray Burrell, Gary Jones Sr. (Sherry), Norvin Jones Sr. (Alice), Willie Faye Lewis, god-children; Gary, Toya, Tamara, Terrance, Merlin and Antoine; caretaker Laverne Blunt, life-long friend Audrey Honeycutt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all loved her dearly. Preceded in death by her mother Julia Burrell, guardian Pearl Lee Jones, husband Eric Lloyd, siblings Terrance, Tyrone, Larry, Carolyn, and good friend the late Diane Petrie. Abigail will forever be loved, cherished and missed by her family and all who knew her. She was a jewel on earth and now our Angel! Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, January 18, 2025, for 12:00 p.m. at Gentilly Baptist Church, 5141 Franklin Ave., New Orleans, LA 70122. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Elder Joseph, officiating. Interment will follow at Holt Cemetery, 527 City Park Ave., New Orleans, LA 70119.
