Abigail Renee Vannatta, born August 8, 1983 and passed away on December 18, 2025. Abby was more than a teacher. She was a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her. At Indiana Connections Academy, she devoted herself to high school special education, always going above and beyond to ensure her students felt valued and capable. Her passion for learning extended beyond the classroom; she even started a Cryptozoology Club, sparking curiosity and joy among her students.
Abby’s heart was as big as her love for animals. She cared for countless cats over the years, treating each one as family. Her life was filled with simple joys. Abby enjoyed watching her favorite movies like The Wizard of Oz and Disney classics, enjoying supernatural stories, and cheering for her favorite dancers on Dancing with the Stars. She loved playing The Sims, visiting the zoo, and celebrating Halloween at Zooboo, creating treasured traditions with loved ones.
Abby’s laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the joy she brought to those around her.
Abby is survived by her husband, Dylan Raines; niece, Annabella Vannatta; parents, Robert and Autumn Vannatta; siblings Amy and Brandon Vannatta; mother-in-law Mona; brothers-in-law Denver and Sterling; sisters-in-law Stephanie and Ashley; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elaine and Duane Farley.
