Abraham Herrera age 73 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday April 9, 2025 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Rita Herrera and his four siblings Elena Herrera, Victor Herrera, Jesus Herrera, and Juanita Herrera.
Abraham leaves behind his loving wife of sixty years Janet Herrera, and their seven children Abraham (Christina) Herrera, Alicia (Valentine) Pena, Rita (Juan Patilla) Herrera, Patricia (Eliud) Pagan, Angie Cadena, Christina (Damaso Jr.) Rodriguez, and Amy Herrera. He also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, along with four siblings Elijio Herrera, Florentino Herrera, Francisca Mansania, and Noemi Herrera.
Abraham was a hardworking, loving family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and always put them first. Abraham, an avid fisherman, enjoyed many fishing outings with his best friend Jose Mendez. Abraham was an amazing home cook. He loved cooking out for his family and friends. Abraham will truly be missed.
A visitation honoring Abraham's life will be held on Monday April 14, 2025 from 2pm to 6pm at Memorial Alternatives located at 2432 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505. Family and Friends are invited to join the family for a memorial dinner immediately following the visitation at Madison Church: North Campus 750 Eastern Ave. NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
