SOUTHBRIDGE – Ada M. Figueroa Baez, 91, of Hamilton Street, passed away peacefully at her home on October 15th, 2025.
Ada is survived by her six beloved children: Miguel Alvarado and his wife Elvia of Punto Oro, PR; Luis Lopez and his wife Dianne of Atlantic City, NJ; Ada Lopez and her husband Reynaldo of Ponce, PR; Celines Lopez of Ponce, PR; Omayra Lopez and her husband Victor of Southbridge; and Elvia Lopez and her husband Rodolfo of Southbridge. She is fondly remembered by her siblings, Israel Figueroa of Ponce, PR; Ramon Figueroa of Bronx, NY; Brenda Figueroa of Florida; and Ivon Figueroa of Mexico. Ada's legacy continues through her nineteen grandchildren and forty-four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Martin Lopez, who passed on June 6th, 2021, her daughter Frances Lopez who passed on April 17, 2020, her grandson Jerrycob Medina who passed May 19, 2019, and her great-grandson Randy A. Melendez Jr., who passed away on October 28th, 2023. Ada joyfully reunites with her parents, Francisco Figueroa and Celia Baez, as well as her siblings, Eva, Francisco, Pedro Jose, Milagros, Carlos, and Freddy, who had passed before her.
Born on November 20th, 1933, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Ada devoted her life to her family, taking on the cherished role of a homemaker.
She had a profound love for God, often spending her free time reading the Bible. Ada found joy in coloring and crafting, frequently creating beautiful items for her family with her array of colored pencils and markers, as well as sewing various crafts, including bean bags.
Ada will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her, but her spirit and love will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Her funeral will be held at 10:AM, on Thursday, October 23, in Iglesias Pentecostal Church De Dios Vivo, 125 Marcy St. Southbridge.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Charlton St. Southbridge.
Calling hours are 5 to 8PM, on Wednesday, October 22, in the church.
