Fiskdale: Clyde "Bill" W. Brown, 89, of Brookfield Rd., passed away in his home after a long, courageous battle against Parkinson's Disease and cancer.

He leaves his loving wife of 70 years, Elizabeth "Liz" D. (Delegan) Brown of Fiskdale; his daughters, Cynthia Brown-Duncan and her husband Paul of Charlton and Cathy Los and her husband Mark of Jefferson, NY.

Bill was born in Scranton, PA the son of William James and Gwendylin Ivy (Marcy) Brown.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University and went on to Drew Seminary where he received a degree in theology. Bill later joined the army, became a captain and served as military chaplain during his tour of duty in Vietnam.

Bill retired from Houghton-Mifflin Publishing Company as Vice President after 20 years. Shortly prior to retirement, he received a master's degree in counseling from Suffolk University.

After retirement, he and Liz enjoyed traveling the country for many years, finally settling in Fiskdale to be closer to their daughter Cynthia.

Bill was a kind and generous, loving and sentimental individual who will be sorely missed.

The Brown family would like to thank the Care Central VNA for their exceptionally skilled and compassionate care during his brief home hospice.

Services for Clyde will be private. There are no calling hours.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
