Ada Floren Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory - R. Lee Williams Chapel on Dec. 6, 2024.
Ada Jane "Janie" Floren, 76, of Longwood, FL, passed away peacefully in her home on November 24, 2024, after a brave, 5-year battle with cancer.
Janie is survived by her loving daughter, Jennifer Floren Farmer, who not only was with
her during every step of her cancer journey but who also was her most treasured
traveling, exploring, and shopping companion. Janie passed along to her daughter an
extraordinary degree of generosity and willingness to help friends and family.
Janie is also survived by her sister Josie Dawson, her first cousin Teri Dassing, her son-
in-law, Dan Hydrick, along with several loving nieces and nephews.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee on July 24, 1948, Janie grew up in the Coral Gables/Miami area, finally settling in the Orlando area in her 20's.
Janie was a devout Buddhist, and she ran a center for Buddhist practice and study for
over 20 years. She was honored as a major benefactor for her Buddha Dharma
teachings and their accomplishments in the U.S. and in India.
Janie spent her time on adventures out west, creating fabulous social gatherings for her
many close friends and attending many Dharma activities and retreats. She lived life in
a big way with flair and exuberance. Janie loved all things red, pink, and sparkly. Her
big, beautiful eyes and gorgeous, wide smile were the signatures of her exotic beauty.
Janie always found a way to balance her fun-loving manner with spaces of peace and
solitude where she would engage in hours of Buddhist study and practice. She was a
vibrant woman who will be profoundly missed by many.
