Ada Josephine Hansen, 22 months old, returned to the loving arms of her father and Heavenly Father, on September 5th, 2025.

From the very beginning, Ada was a surprise that turned into a tender blessing. Born just months after the loss of her father, she became the light and hope her family needed in their season of grief. The night she was born, family and friends filled the Hansen home, awaiting her arrival. In the quiet of her mother’s room, Ada entered the world with a sweet cry, surrounded by love.

Every day of Ada’s life was filled with care, laughter, and joy from her devoted family. She was cherished by her mother, Angela Hansen, and adored by her siblings, Asher, Naomi, and Violet. Ada’s sparkling blue eyes could brighten any room, and her curly blonde hair added to her adorable traits. She loved bubbles, singing, riding her bike, and was often found snuggling her favorite baby doll (which sometimes startled others, but delighted her) and a cat—whether real or stuffed. Determined and wonderfully stubborn, Ada was quick to say “no,” often to everything, yet just as ready to climb into a loved one’s arms when she needed comfort. She disliked naps but never failed to wake with a smile. One of her family’s sweetest memories is the way Ada’s mother and aunts sang her lullabies, which she would repeat back with adorable fervor.

Naomi was like a mother hen, caring for both her little sisters, while Asher and Violet proudly acted as Ada’s protectors, whether driving her around, watching over her, or holding her hand. Her siblings were her world, and she was theirs.

Ada leaves behind family who adored her: her mother Angela, her siblings; Asher (9), Naomi(7), and Violet (4); her grandparents Steven (Patricia) Hansen, Chad (Robyn) Rackham and Joni(Mark) Pennington; many doting great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, bonus family and numerous cousins who adored every smile and declaration of “NO!” a like.

She is reunited in heaven with her loving father, Kyley Hansen, and her grandmother, Kathy Hansen, and her uncle, Zachary Hansen, who died in infancy. Ada’s life was short but overflowing with love. She was the sweetest addition to her family, alight in their darkest moments, and a reminder of joy after sorrow. She will be deeply missed for her radiant smile, tender spirit, and even her stubborn streak that made her uniquely Ada Jo. Though her time on earth was brief, her impact is eternal.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11th, at 6:00 pm, with a viewing from 4:00-6:00 pm at Lindquist's Syracuse Mortuary, 869 South 2000 West.
