Ada was born on July 26th, 1940 in Gainesville, Texas.

She was a strong, charismatic, and independent woman who was always ready for the next project. Ada graduated from Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, TX where she made lifelong friends and was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and a Sigma Chi sweetheart.

Ada married Fritz in 1961 and the two of them made quite the duo! They grew up in Gainesville together and dated since they were about 14 years old. Due to Fritz’s time in the US Navy, they lived all over the world. Ada taught school in both Japan and in the states.

They finally landed in Louisiana and truly enjoyed their lives there. Raising their children, Michell and Fred, and living life to the fullest. While in New Orleans, Ada participated in many hobbies but particularly loved partaking in residential and commercial renovations. One of her most notable projects was spearheading the reconstruction of the Newcomb Blvd monument, which happened to be at the end of their street in New Orleans. She held positions on boards like Tulane University and was very dedicated to the Audubon Zoo.

In their later years, work brought Fritz to Houston, TX where they enjoyed being members at River Oaks Country Club, meeting new friends and being closer to their kids and grandkids.

Ada, also known as “Coco”, enjoyed seeing her grandkids grow up, and she and Fritz loved traveling and ended up taking the grandkids all over the world. Ultimately, they even saw five great grandchildren be born and loved showing them around their house and all the interesting stories that came along with the knick knacks from their lives.

Mrs. Lausen is survived by their daughter Michell Turkington, her husband, Scott, their daughter, Rachel Shashoua, her husband, Michael, and their son Ben. Their son Frederick R. Lausen Jr., his wife, Peppi, their daughter, Landi Lutz, husband, Kyle, and children, Gentry and Lucy. Daughter, Leigh Shaw, husband, Collin, and children, Brayden and Knox, and Son, Rivers Lausen.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, Fritz and parents Dorothy and Paul Morgan, all of Gainesville, Texas.

A family graveside service will be held at 11 am on July 7, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery pavilion. Arrangements are under the care of Geo. J. Carroll & Son.
