Ada Marie Massner, 99 of Mediapolis, died Saturday, February 1st, 2025 at Great River Medical Center. Born December 7th, 1925 at home in Oakville, IA, she was the daughter of John H. and Bertha (Gerst) Wagenbach Sr. She married Earl Adolph Massner March 26th, 1950 in Oakville. He died June 23rd, 2009
Ada was a member of the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church. She was baptized October 6th, 1940 at the age of 14. After graduating from Huron High School, Ada took Business training at Burlington Junior College and worked for Schramm & Schmieg until she got married. Ada was a dedicated caregiver to Her son Dean, who from a young age was physically impaired. She lovingly helped him through school and dutifully cared for him until his passing in 2019.
She enjoyed being with family; especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include Dennis (Gail) Massner of West Bend, IA; Carol (Joe) Bonnesen of Wapello, IA, and Lyle (Deb) Massner of Morning Sun, IA; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Bertha Massner and Dolores Anliker, of Mediapolis, IA, and Teresa Marti of Burlington, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; Son, Dean, Grandson Jon Bonnesen, and Great Granddaughter Dahlia Bonnesen, three brothers, Paul, John, and Gerald; and five sisters, Barbara Massner, Edith Wagenbach, Emma Jean Lanz, Verna Woodward, and Dorothy Schulz.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, February 4 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Lunning Chapel. The funeral service for Mrs. Massner will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 5 at the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church. Ministers of the Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in rural Oakville. There will be a short visitation prior the service from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the church.
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial has be established for the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church.
