Ada Skees Obituary
She was born April 19, 1938, and was the daughter of Mitchell and Ida Floyd. She was saved as a young teenager at Center Point Missionary Baptist Church in White Mills. She remained a lifetime member there, but the last several years, she attended Lone Oak in Millerstown until she was no longer able to go. Ada loved the old time gospel hymns.
Ada married her husband, Mitchell Skees Jr. on July 1, 1961. Together they had 15 children, nine boys and six girls, whom she loved with her whole heart. She had a pure heart and was known for her love for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Skees Jr.; three sons, Josh, Joey and Mickey Skees; a daughter, Bonnie Sue. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Ida Floyd; two brothers, Ralph Floyd and Clyde Floyd; and a sister, Carolyn Sue Skees.
Survivors include her six sons, Justin Skees of Flint Hill, Wayne Skees of White Mills, Donnie Skees (Mary Ann) of Sonora, Gary Skees (Turetta) of Clarkson, Jerry Skees of White Mills and Jason Skees (Melissa) of White Mills; and five daughters, Diane Fields of Millerstown, Pam Skees and Belinda Knight (Ronnie), all of Elizabethtown, Barbara Sadler (Jamie) of Leitchfield and Jamie Skees of White Mills. Also surviving are her 20 grandchildren, Reagan, Haley, Chase, Dana, Joe, Jessica, Adam, Jarrett, Briana, Landon, Bradley, Josh, Cassandra, Robert, Dalton, Abby, Maddy, Alyssa, Addison and Mason; 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ada loved her whole family and she will be deeply missed.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Center Point Missionary Baptist Church in Sonora with Brother Adam Jenkins, Brother Freddy Vertrees and Brother Robert Jewell officiating. Burial follows in St. Ignatius Catholic Church Cemetery in White Mills.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora and continues from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
