Ada E. Zampano, 80, of Scranton, passed away peacefully Thursday morning while in the exceptional care of Linwood Nursing & Rehab in Scranton. She is reunited with the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Dennis Zampano, who died in 2009 after 48 years of marriage.
She was the daughter of the late David and Antoinette Mirto Jones, and a graduate of Dunmore High School class of 1959 and always embraced her Dunmore roots. Ada was member of Mary, Mother of God Parish in Scranton.
She was one of the original employees of Prudential Asset Management on Montage Mountain and was always known for her quick wit and homemade lasagna.
She enjoyed vacationing, especially with her sisters, and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Robin Ribaudo and her husband, Salvatore "Sonny," Scranton; two sisters, Donna Petras, Levittown, Pa.; and Nancy Ann Jones, Scranton; cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ada was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Salvatore "Torey" Ribaudo, in 2008; her son, Richard Zampano, in 1990; and a sister, Mary Reese.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. in Scranton. Interment to follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Saturday morning from 9:30 until the time of Mass.
