Adam Jeffery Alexander was born on Friday, May 12, 1961 to Madeleine Roundy and Robert Earl Alexander in
Chico, California. He was their fourth and youngest son. His brothers were Steven Andrew, Robert Eric and Aaron Lorenzo. He loved his brothers and admired their many talents; Steven, for his leadership and charisma; Eric, for his intellect; and Aaron, for his photographic memory, humor and wit. Adam adored his parents and was always thinking of them. He was especially fond of his dad. When he was a little boy, if he were invited to a birthday party or some kind of social event where there was food, he'd always remember to bring home a cookie or a half-eaten cupcake for his dad.
When Adam was young, one of his school assignments was to write about his family. His paper went something like this: "My parents got married and moved to Salt Lake City where my brother, Steven, was born. Then they moved to Las Vegas where my brother, Eric, was born. Then they moved to Lancaster where my brother, Aaron, was born. Then they moved to Paradise where I was born. I hope they don't
move again."
Adam was a very popular student and excelled in sports in both junior high and high school. One of his favorite sports was wrestling. He even joined the cross-country team every fall so he could build up his stamina to be a better wrestler in the winter. But because his school was so small, they didn't have a wrestling coach. So he decided to go to Paradise every day after school and go to their wrestling practices. He'd learn the moves and techniques there and then teach his team the following day.
Adam was a leader. He was also a very devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served for two years in the Philippines Cebu Mission and loved the Filipino people. He received his mission call right before he graduated from high school and his yearbook was filled with messages from classmates and teachers wishing him good luck.
Adam became a general building contractor and excelled in the building trades. He was exceptionally gifted in detailed finish work and stone work. Some of his later projects included a stone replication of a Louis XV fireplace surround for a French chateau.
When Adam first started building he met Pamela Morgan in
Corona del Mar, California. They married in the Oakland Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 9, 1988. They were blessed with four wonderful children who include Quinn Bradford (Lucia), Eden Peri, Summer Kate and Grace Madeleine. Their darling grandchildren include Jaky, Aaliyah, Elizabeth and Jana. Adam absolutely loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally and his fondest dream was for them to know and love their Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and to one day receive exaltation in Heavenly Father's kingdom.
Adam loved his Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. They were his greatest champions and his best friends. His desire was to do Their will. During the October 2022 General Conference, President Russell M. Nelson made a special plea for members to put greater emphasis on temple attendance and Adam took this to heart. From that time until he passed, Adam attended the temple almost daily. He truly loved the saving ordinances of the gospel and the wonderful people for whom he performed those saving ordinances.
We will truly miss Adam, his tender-hearted disposition, his kindness, his empathy and his love. Until we meet again, we love you, Adam.
