Adam Martin Johnston passed away on January 5, 2025, at his home. Adam was born on June 10, 1983, to parents, Dale Allen Johnston and Vicki Sullivan Johnston of Tuscaloosa, AL. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday January 16, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel. The Celebration will be conducted by his close friend Ricky Burch. A graveside service will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Pastor Jeremy Burrage officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M.
Adam was preceded in death by grandparents, George Rufus and Virginia Johnston, his "PaPa" Martin V. Selman, Jr. and "Nana" Emily Williamson Selman, Houston and Dee Sullivan, and Virgil and Hazel Hannah.
He is survived by his parents, Vicki Sullivan Hannah (Rick) and Dale Allen Johnston; siblings Bridget Mclaughlin, Bethani Porter, and Blake Hannah (Brandi); nieces and nephews, Hunter Keith (Kayla), Cole Mclaughlin (Kayli), Charlie Blake Hannah, Ryleigh Tabor, and Hudson White; great nephew and niece, Walker and Emery.
When Adam was born, his big sister Bridget adored him. They stayed close through the years, and shared many heart-to-heart talks about life, love, and family. He was especially proud that she made him an uncle and he became "Uncle Adam" to his nephews, Hunter and Cole.
Adam was also blessed to have Blake Hannah as his "little brother" most of his life. Blake was the best little brother Adam could have asked for. From the first trip to the beach in 1994, they bonded in such a beautiful way. Throughout the years, they grew even closer. As the big brother, Adam always looked out for Blake and Blake knew he would always be there for him. In almost every photo of the two, Adam had his arm around Blake.
Adam was an avid supporter of all things related to animal safety, protection, and support. His dogs, Eve, Luna, and Mila were his "children" and the loves of his life. He loved the outdoors, playing disc golf with the boys, and all kinds of art and music. As General Manager at Druid City Music Hall for a number of years, he met many special friends in the music industry. He was a very deep soul everything in his life had meaning. Everything.
Adam had countless friends who were special to him, and many childhood friendships that were present throughout his life. He was a true friend in every sense of the word, always there to help and support others in times of need. He was especially close to his friend and neighbor, Alex. If you were his friend, you knew how he felt, and how deeply he cared for you.
Pallbearers will be Brian Burch, Brad Burch, Mike Edgar, Sam Foster, Blake Hannah, and Nolan Hicks. Memorials may be made to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or the animal protection agency of your choice.
