It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Adam Levy Malveaux, Jr. "Juney Boy." He departed this life after a brief illness on Monday, January 6, 2025 at the age of 70. He was born on November 21, 1954 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Adam was a proud graduate of LaGrange High School Class of 1973 and obtained an Associate Drafting Degree from Sowela in 1975.
Adam was never afraid of hard work. He began working in his early teens at a neighborhood corner store. He then worked on a pogie fishing boat in Cameron in 1971. During high school Adam worked at the JC Penny Grocery store as a night stocker and then as a cashier. He worked as a draftsman for a shipping yard in Orange, Texas. Adam finished out his working years at PPG/ Axiall as an Operator in Powerhouse C. He retired in 2018 after 42 years.
Retirement suited Adam well. His days consisted of his daily prayers, exercising, going to the movies (when school-age kids weren't there), watching and playing along with the Price is Right, and jetting around town checking stuff out. Adam was the life of the party and could easily command a room when he entered. He was never afraid to give anyone advice or offer a hand. Adam could get you to see the positive in any situation by getting you to forget your worries; everything is small stuff. His generous and independent spirit will surely be missed by all that came in contact with him.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his children, Andrew Levy Malveaux (Paige); Jessica Corbello (Glenn); grandsons Maverick Joseph and Harrison Levy. Brother, Arnold Malveaux (Beverly); sisters, Isabella Rideaux (Wayne), Brigette Davis (Randall), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, mother of his children (Dianne Duplechain Malveaux), and a slew of loyal friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy Mae Rideaux Lofton (Jack) and Adam Levy Malveaux Sr. (Hilda) and his sister, Sheila Rankins.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Adam will be laid to rest at the Combre Memorial Park Garden of Prayer at a later date.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff from Christus St. Patrick Emergency Room, Cardiac Floor, Intensive Care Unit, and the staff at Harbor Hospice.
