Adam C. Rand, 42, of Danvers, MA, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at his home. He was the son of Karen (Gagnon) and the late Christopher Rand.
Adam grew up in Newton, NH, the oldest out of his siblings. As a child, he enjoyed many activities, but playing baseball and snowmobiling with his family were among his favorites. He had many cherished memories of spending time in Vermont with family, especially with his grandfather whom he was very close with. After high school, he joined the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 4. He was very proud to be the 4th generation in his family to be a member. As a young adult his work became his passion. He worked on many high rise projects in the Boston area. He made a lot of good friends through the trade and trades he worked with. He was funny and quick witted and could make anyone laugh with his sense of humor.
In Adam's free time he enjoyed being with loved ones. He was very proud of his son Jonathan. They enjoyed trips down to Marco Island, Florida with his partner, Shelley. Adam loved to sit on the beach and read. At home, Adam loved to cook for his family. He would create large elaborate meals for his loved ones. Making his family happy and fed, made him happy. He was a huge New England sports fan, and loved to keep up to date with current events. Outside the home, Adam enjoyed dining at many good restaurants in the area with his beloved partner Shelley. He knew all the good places to go and enjoy a nice meal. He loved going to Crane's Beach and enjoying the view with a loved one.
Above all in his life, Adam loved his family. He loved a good joke and was very playful with teasing and joking around. He was very good with checking in with family members and friends. He was caring and thoughtful. He never forgot or missed a birthday or holiday for his beloved
family. Always putting a lot of thought into gifts that he was giving to those he loved. He was always there to share and listen to a story. His thoughtfulness and loving nature will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his son Jonathan Rand, his sister Jennifer Kennedy and her husband Patrick of Raymond, NH, his partner Shelley Rubin of Wakefield, MA, his nieces and nephews Jack Kennedy, Owen Kennedy, Benjamin Kennedy, Melanie Rand, and Michael
Rand, aunts and uncle, Lynda and James Smith, Kathleen Rand, Brian and Carol Gagnon, his paternal grandmother Carol Ann Rand and many cousins.
He was sadly predeceased by his wife and mother of his son, Julya (Goloschinsky) Rand, father Christopher Rand, grandfather Neal Rand and his brother Erik Rand.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 4pm – 7pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held
privately.
