Adam Smith Obituary

Published by Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium - Lexington on Jul. 22, 2012.
Lexington- Adam Damien Smith of Santa Monica, California passed from this earth at his parents' home in Columbia, SC on July 22, 2012. He was born on June 5, 1974 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to David and Rose-Marie Smith. He grew up in Columbia, SC where he graduated from Irmo High School and the University of South Carolina. He spent summers with his grandparents in NJ and East Marion, NY. Until his illness, he worked in the hospitality industry at the Roosevelt and Beverly Wilshire Hotels in Los Angeles, Calif. He wrote and performed comedy in LA clubs. He loved all things Gamecock. He belonged to the successful LA trivia team, 'It Rubs the Lotion on Its Skin, Or Else It Gets the Hose Again". He believed that one giant foam cowboy hat was not enough. He is survived by his beloved wife, Yesenia, their daughter Ysabella of Santa Monica, Calif.; brother, Erik of Los Angeles, Calif.; Aunt and Uncle, Mary Anne and C.C. Holub of Union, NJ; and his parents. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Pat and Anne Colicchio and George and Barbara Smith. We appreciate the care, compassion and friendship of Providence Trinity Care Hospice of Southern California and Compassionate Care of Hospice in Columbia, SC and of his wonderful friends who shared so much time. He loved and was loved by so many, and although no longer here, those who passed before are welcoming this wonderful soul home. How fortunate we were to know him.
