Addie Mae Rigsby Horton, 85, of Grayson, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at King's Daughters Medical Center following a brief illness. Addie was the wife of Fred Horton for 64 years and the daughter of the late Wert and Grace Ison Risgby. She was a homemaker, crafter, and proud mother of five children. She was of the Pentecostal faith and until recently was very active as a musician with her sidekick Minnie Tolliver. She and Minnie sang at church gatherings and numerous funerals. Raising a large family, Addie was loving, supportive and was quick to either defend or correct any of "hers" at any time. She was "Mom".
She was preceded in addition to her parents, by a son, Michael Wayne; two brothers, Thurman Rigsby and Wert "Cotton" Rigsby; three sisters, Laura Pearl Jungfleisch and infants Grace Bell and Rose Rigsby.
She is survived in addition to her husband, by two sons, Freddy (Theresa) Horton and Harold (Jami) Horton, both of Grayson; and by two daughters, Cheryl (Charles) Wagoner and Drema (Ben) Steele of Grayson; five grandchildren, Dustin (Bonnie) Owens, Kristin (Tyler) Fleming, Skylar Horton, Ashley (Willie) McGlone and Em Steele, all of Grayson; four great-grandchildren, Dustin, Jr., Jack, Harley and Leah.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Kyle Burchett and Caleb Wilburn ministers. Burial will follow in the Horton Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Owens, Dustin Owens, Jr., Tyler Fleming, Tim Hammons, Willie McGlone, Randy Seagraves, Ben Steele and Charles Wagoner.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
