Adelaide (Addie) Klimek was born on February 25, 1925 to Bernard and Magdalena (Lambertz) Suchy and grew up in the Urbank area. On May 15, 1945 she was joined in marriage to Gebhart Klimek at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank. They farmed in the Millerville area and became the parents of seven children.
In 1986, they retired in the Alexandria area and were members of St. Mary’s Parish. Addie enjoyed her gardening, flowers, needlework, quilting and spending time with family. In February of 1996 Addie moved to Towne Square Apts when Gebhart became a resident of Bethany Home. He passed away in November of 1996. Addie then became an active volunteer at the Alexandria Senior Center and enjoyed her work and all the people she met there. Her kind ways of helping others will be remembered by all who knew her. On July 1, 2011 Addie moved to Winona Shores, then to Bethany Home again making many new friends and really enjoyed her days there.
Addie also had a pen pal, Charly. She looked forward to sending and receiving letters from her which she shared with family and staff at Bethany.
We are so grateful for the caring staff at Bethany and Moments Hospice team who took such great care of our Mom.
