Adelaide Grant Ruby

Adelaide Grant Ruby, beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 28, 2024, at 93 years old. She was born January 22, 1931 in Bangor Maine and received a BS degree in Education from The University of Maine at Orono. Adelaide taught Home Economics in Maine and Massachusetts before marrying the love of her life, William S. Ruby. They moved to New Jersey in 1962 where Adelaide volunteered her time to school, church, and community activities. She was a substitute teacher in the East Brunswick School District for 15 years. She moved to Heritage Creek, Warwick, Pennsylvania in 2005 and to Ann's Choice Warminster, Pennsylvania in 2019. Adelaide had friendships at every stage in her life. She had 75-year friendships, 5-year friendships and everything in-between. Adelaide connected with people very easily throughout her life.
She loved to read and travel with her family and friends.
Adelaide was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, William S. Ruby and by her granddaughter, Sarah Adelaide Kelch. Surviving is a son, Stephen Grant Ruby and his wife, Kathleen, of Superior, Colorado; 2 daughters, Kathryn M. Lunde and her husband, Thomas, of Warminster, Pennsylvania and Anne E. Kelch of Oxnard, California; 6 grandchildren, Kristen Lunde (Joseph Allen), Elizabeth Lunde, Erin Ruby, Kevin Ruby, Laura Adelaide Ruby, Christopher Kelch; and 22 nieces and nephews. Adelaide will live forever in our hearts as she rests in peace with all her loved ones who passed before her.
Family and friends are invited to Adelaide's Life Celebration on Saturday December 14, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W Street Rd. Warminster, PA 18974. Interment services will be held privately.
