On October 4, 2025, Bruce Lins Gutterson, age 95, passed away peacefully. He is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and Dottie, his loving wife of 71 years. Bruce is survived by his four children and their spouses, David and Debra Gutterson, Donna and Eric Gravel, Nancy and Frank Shuster, and Susan and Kenneth Yerk; his seven grandchildren, Scot, Brent, Katie, Nicole, Cori, Carl, and Kelsey; and 9 great grandchildren.
Bruce was born and raised in Langhorne, by Harold and Emily K. Gutterson. Upon graduating from the Langhorne School district, Bruce almost immediately began his career with Bell of Pennsylvania. Bruce's career with the phone company, eventually called Verizon, was for 48 years, and only interrupted in 1952, as Bruce was called to serve his country as a U.S. Marine for 2 years during the Korean war. While working full time for Bell Atlantic, Bruce went to night school at Rider College in Princeton New Jersey to earn a bachelor's degree in business at age 42. After retirement from Verizon, Bruce stayed in the telecommunications industry, servicing communications and electronics for St. Mary's Hospital in Langhorne for an additional 10 years, until he retired at age 84.
Bruce had a passion for airplanes and in his later years, he earned his pilot's license and flew a Cessna aircraft out of Van Sant airport in northern Bucks County.
Bruce and Dottie left Levittown after 50+ years and then spent nearly 20 years at Ann's Choice Retirement community in Warminster. Bruce shared his passion for old time, big band, and gospel music from his computer, as Bruce's Bandstand, bringing joy and entertainment to his fellow residents. He gained quite a following and took great pride in being the beloved Music Man.
He will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
Private services for family will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
