Edward Hill Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home - Hamilton on Feb. 13, 2026.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Lee Hill, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life peacefully from natural causes on February 11, 2026. Edward was born on December 29, 1941, in Reading, Pennsylvania, and spent his formative years there, embracing the values of family, faith, and hard work that would guide him throughout his life.

In 1969, Edward made the move to Hamilton, New Jersey, where he would build a life filled with cherished memories and lasting friendships. He spent nearly two decades working at Citibank as a Section Head and later as a Mortgage Processor for GMAC, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His dedication and professionalism were evident in every task he undertook.

A proud graduate of Rider College, Edward earned his Bachelor of Science degree, laying the foundation for a fulfilling career. He was an active member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Hamilton, NJ, where he immersed himself in the community, joining the Trenton AHEPA Chapter 72 and the St. George Greek Orthodox Seniors. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and he enjoyed connecting with others who shared his background and values.

Edward's passions in life extended beyond work. He was an avid fisherman, often finding solace by the water, where he could clear his mind and appreciate the beauty of nature. He had a keen interest in collecting coins, foreign currency, and stamps, revealing a curiosity for the world that extended far beyond his immediate surroundings. Edward was also a devoted New York Yankees fan, cheering for his team with unwavering loyalty. He especially loved indulging in good food, enjoying both cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. In his quieter moments, he found joy in tackling crossword puzzles, a pastime that stimulated his mind and brought him delight.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, William and Victoria (Soltanis) Hill; his brother, George A. Hill; and his sister-in-law, Isabella Kaminaris.

He is survived by his loving wife Helene (Mellis) Hill, his brother Thomas J. Hill and wife Roseanne, and sister-in-law Dolores Hill, his brother-in-law Nick Mellis and wife Christine; and his many cherished nieces and nephews: Evangeline Kaminaris and husband Ahmed Mostafa, and Alexander and Rachel Kaminaris, Will, Katie, Parker, and Aubrey Hill, Jessica and husband J.W. and Tyler Contrell; and his great nephew and great niece, Joshua and Isabella Kaminaris. His family will always remember his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the love he shared so generously.

Greek Orthodox funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 11:00 at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Road, Hamilton, NJ.

Visitation for family and friends to honor Edward's life will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church where we will share in the memories, laughter, and love that he so freely gave.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton, NJ, where he will be laid to rest.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.

As we bid farewell to Edward Lee Hill, let us carry forward his legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love. May he find eternal peace in the embrace of the Lord.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to either St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619 or to the AHEPA Trenton Chapter 72, 2333 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
