Adelbert Noyes Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 3, 2025.
PATTEN - Adelbert C. Noyes, "Skeet", passed away on October 28,2025. He was born in Patten July 22, 1931, the son of Myrtle and Edward Noyes. Skeet's father passed at a young age and very special man stepped up to be his step dad, Clive Hatt.
Skeet served in the Korean war as a medic. When he returned home, his love of woods working started with Hollis Shorey and Son, where he met the love of his life, Annette Shorey, the daughter of Hollis and Nettie Shorey. Skeet and Annette remained married for 69 years until her passing in 2023. They were most commonly known by their nick names "Skeet" and "Stitch". They raised three children: Cindy, Sandy and Kevin. Skeet and Annette's home was always welcoming and when you left you felt like family.
Skeet made his mark in the Maine woods as a forester for the J. M Huber Corporation. Skeet and his brother in-law and best friend, Don Shorey, were known for getting things done. They were truly hard-working stewards for the Maine forest. Skeet was known for his humor and care for others and for never stopping working attitude. At any time you passed his place, he would be outside doing something.
In mentioning of family there are so many alive and those whom proceeded them that I would be too afraid to try to list as I'm sure there would be some that I would miss. Just know that they loved you all.
If you would like to do something in memory of Skeet and Annette, please plant a tree or some flowers so the spirit of these wonderful people will live on.
A spring interment for Skeet and Annette will be planned at the cemetery in Patten.
