Adrain H. Bowling, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania at the age of 86. Born on April 11, 1939, in Roanoke, Virginia. Adrain's life journey took him from his roots in Virginia to beautiful Bucks County where he graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1957.
A favorite place to visit was Chincoteague, Virginia, home of the wild ponies. Chincoteague Island became their residence until 2011. Adrain enjoyed flounder fishing, eagle viewing and cruising the island. Additionally, he loved flying kites with his wife on Assateague beach where we sat in awe of the sight and his skill. Beachgoers would come up to Adrain, ask questions and take pictures of the kites as they flew across the blue skies.
Settling in New Hope, Pennsylvania, Adrain enjoyed helping his neighbors and the men’s afternoon chat session.
Adrain had a successful career with Hill Refrigeration in Trenton, New Jersey, dedicating many years of his life to his work. His commitment and work ethic were admired, illustrating his strong character and devotion to his family’s well-being. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country with honor and pride.
Adrain's adventurous spirit flourished in his younger years as he was a Standardbred horse jockey for many years. His passion for horses extended beyond racing as he devoted time to caring for horses on a friend’s farm.
Adrain was married to his beloved wife, Barbara Walters Bowling, for 61 years. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership that transcended the years. He is survived by Barbara, their daughter Carolyn E. Powell (William G. Powell) as well as their three sons Richard A. Evans (Penny Evans), Ronald S. Evans (Linda Evans) and Gary S. Evans.
Adrain’s sisters: Juleece Bowling Doey (William Doey), Joy Bowling Marsden Laret (William Laret) and Arlene Bowling Ray (Gordon Ray). Adrain also leaves behind a legacy of love with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, not to mention several nieces and nephews.
