Adrian Ja'Var Murray

Adrian Ja'Var Murray, 32, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on September 10, 2025, in his hometown. Born on August 20, 1993, Adrian was the cherished son of Mark W. Murray and Catrece D. Smith-Murray.

Adrian was a proud graduate of Topeka West High School and pursued a career in plumbing, where he worked as a dedicated and skilled plumber at Blue Dot Plumbing. Known for his strong work ethic and unwavering willingness to help others, Adrian left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A gifted athlete, Adrian's passion for football began in high school. He proudly represented local semi-pro football teams Midwest Venom, Kansas Sentinels, Topeka Twisters, Topeka Buccaneers and Topeka Thunder. Beyond football, Adrian excelled in track and field, particularly in the 100-meter dash and 4x100 relay, showcasing his remarkable speed and determination.

Off the field, Adrian's interests were as vibrant as his personality. He found joy in fishing, music, and cheering on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. His favorite color, red, symbolized not only his loyalty to his team but also his bold and spirited nature.

Above all, Adrian was a devoted father to his daughter, Leona Mae Murray, who was the light of his life. He deeply cherished his family, holding a special bond with his nephew, Ja'Cobi. Adrian's love for his family and the joy he brought to those around him will forever be his enduring legacy.

Adrian is survived by his daughter, Leona Mae Murray; his parents, Mark W. Murray and Catrece D. Murray; his brother, Markus W. Murray; his sister, Unique C. Murray; and his nephew, Ja'Cobi Murray; uncle, Matthew Murray (Julie), all of Topeka, Kansas; and aunt, Mia Lane (Eddie) of Rowlett, Texas.

Adrian will be remembered for his resilience, his boundless love for family and friends, and the light he brought into every life he touched.
