In Loving Memory of Clara Mae Owens-Moore

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Clara Mae Owens, who entered eternal rest on August 10, 2025, ate the age of 64. She was born on April 24, 1961, in Topeka, Kansas, to the late Aled Jane Lee and James Oliver Owens.

Clara was the heart of our family, a pillar of strength, love, and wisdom whose presence touched all who knew her. Raised in a home grounded in faith, tradition, and enduring values, she carried throughout her life a strong moral compass and a deep compassion for others.

She attended Highland Park High School, graduating with the Class of 1979. From a young age, her life was anchored in her faith. She began her spiritual journey at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, later worshipping and serving faithfully as a member of El Shaddai Church, and also attending Eastside Church of God in Christ. She found joy in ministry, fellowship, and living out her belief in loving and serving others.

Clara's life was a testament to grace and kindness. Whether through church involvement, acts of service, or words of encouragement, she uplifted those around her and left a lasting mark on every heart she touched.

She was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Tanae and Keeyawna, from her first marriage to James Leon Laney. On June1, 2018, she married the love of her life, Willie James Moor, gaining a cherished stepdaughter, Antoinette. Clara and Willie enjoyed life together shopping, dining out, traveling, and spending time with family. Their love was deep and enduring, and Willie, who preceded her in death, no welcomes her home.

Known for her gentle spirit, strong faith, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones, Clara made her kitchen a place of warmth, often preparing her famous meatloaf, sharing wisdom, or offering a heartfelt prayer. Her guiding motto was "Peace, Love, and Happiness", a philosophy she lived daily, spreading joy and compassion wherever she went.

Clara was dedicated to her community, working as a key punch operator for the State of Kansas and later devoting 15 years to the mental health field in both Missouri and Kansas. A gifted songwriter, she shared her creativity with the world through her music.

She will forever be remembered for her selflessness, her infectious laughter, her nurturing heart, her loving hugs, and those unforgettable warm, wet kisses that made everyone feel cherished. Clara's legacy I s one of love, joy, and faith. Her light will continue to shine in the lives of all who knew her.
