Adrian Andrew Slaughter, Sr. was born on March 29, 1966, to Elouise Bradley Slaughter and Ivory Slughter, Sr. He and his siblings were raised in a home, centered around Faith, Family, Love and Fun. Adrian fulfilled his destiny here on earth, and God called him home into his loving grace on December 23,2022, at the young age of 56, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center's MICU, surrounded by close family and friends. Adrian was a 1984 graduate of Rosenwald High School, New Roads, LA. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army, and his experiences while in the army played an important role in his life. His time in the military taught him the value of discipline, teamwork, and the importance of investing in causes larger than himself. He exhibited those values as he embarked on a new career in Corrections and Law Enforcement. In 1988 Adrian became a Correctional Officer at the Pointe Coupee Parish Detention Center; furthering his career in Law Enforcement, at Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Department, and East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Department, where he advanced through the ranks for over 30 plus years, becoming Captain. After taking a short sabbatical, Adrian acquired a position as Sergeant with the City of New Roads Police Department, until his untimely passing. Adrian is survived by his wife of 32 years, Angela Perkins-Slaughter; three children: Andrew Albert, Shelby Slaughter, and Adrian Slaughter, Jr.; grandchildren: Adriel Slaughter, Ja'lacia Pearson, Jhi Pearson, and Averi Marks; Sisters: Melissa Slaughter, Karen Slaughter-Lewis, Stephanie Slaughter-Jeanpierre (Charles), Stacey Slaughter, Hillary Slaughter (Mark); brother, Baron Slaughter (Evelyn); aunts: Bernice Bradley- Jack, Ruby Bradley, Darlene Celestine(Andrew), Sylvia Betts; Uncles: Rev. Elva Jacobs(Birdie) and Phil Henderson, numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, extended family, and friends. Adrian was preceded in death by his parents, Ivory, Sr. and Elouise Bradley Slaughter, brother, Ivory Slaughter, Jr., father and mother-in-law James and Sally Perkins, and brother-in-law, Anthony J. Lewis.
