She is survived by her children, Richard "Rick" Ford (Veronica), Effie Schilling (James), Linda Ford, and Margaret "Maggie" Fancher (Richard); grandchildren, Blake, Conner, Starr, Sadie, Scott, Shane, William, Andrew, Olivia, Roman, and Rylan; six great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Ford; parents, Charles and Anna Mae Shephard; and sister, Janet Garcia.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Samart Funeral Home in Gray (4511 West Park Ave, Gray, LA) from 10:00 am until her Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Grace Christian Memorial Garden Cemetery in Houma.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her doctors, especially Dr. Kohal and Dr. Fleckman and her nurses at Terrebonne General CCU, and the nurses and staff at Hope Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. The family would also like to thank everyone for their prayers, well wishes, and support during this time.
