He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 73 years, Aurelia "Marie" Pellegrin Nelton; daughters: Cindy Reichard and husband Mark, Peggy Blalock and husband Thomas, Sandra Bailey and husband Rodney; son: Hansen "Butch" Nelton Jr. and wife Marie; grandchildren: Brandy Solet, Tommy Shane Blalock, Rondie Bollinger, Caleb Nelton, Alaina Blanchard, Amanda Smith, Heidi Stonecipher, Erica LeCompte; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by sisters: Audrey McCurry, Marylee Matherne, Connie Matherne, and brother Joseph Nelton.
Preceded in death by his parents: James Nelton and Ella LeBeouf Nelton; brothers: Elgin Nelton, Aaron Nelton, Allen Nelton, and Andrew Nelton; and sister, Emily Jabert.
He was a retired oilfield worker and commercial shrimper. A man that loved his family unconditionally.
Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses over 62 years ago, he was a member of the Houma Airport Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was a man of faith with a deep love for God until his death. He loved sharing his faith with others and it guided him in the way he lived his life and the way he loved and treated others. He was a kind and gentle man and sadly missed by those who knew him.
There are no visitation or funeral services planned other than private services for the family.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to St. Joseph Hospice Care, especially Kristi LeJeune and Dori LaFleur, for their exceptional care and support for the family.
