Agata Calandrino, 87, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 4 2025. Born in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily, Italy, to the late Vincenzo Giacalone and Brigida Giacalone on November 21, 1937.
A pillar of strength and a beacon of love, Agata was first and foremost an amazing mother and Nonna, who was always there when we needed her most, offering support, wisdom and an abundance of love. Every cherished moment with her family was made even better with her delicious cooking. Her absence leaves an immense void in our hearts.
Agata is survived by her 5 children: Son, Matteo Calandrino of California, and 4 daughters, Fina Rallo of California, Brigida Calandrino of Norwalk, Rosa Greco (Peter) of Redding, and Enza Catterino (Leo) of Redding. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Agata is pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Vito Calandrino, and her son-in-law, Joe Rallo. A visitation will be held for family and friends on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street, Norwalk CT.
