Agnes Florence LaPier, 92, of Plattsburgh and formerly of West Chazy, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 with her loving family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Tupper Lake, NY on November 25, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Smart) Osier.
Agnes graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy and the Loretta Business School.
She worked at the Strand Theater in Plattsburgh and met her husband Joseph LaPier, they were married on August 21, 1954. Agnes was an active member of St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the altar rosary society, the bible sharing group, bereavement committee, parish council and worked BINGO.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph LaPier, a great-grandson a special angel Boone Light and her siblings; Morris Osier, Leona Dubuque and Doris Delisle.
Agnes is survived five daughters; Kim Kourofsky and her companion Michael Lawler, Beth St. Louis and her companion Michael Taylor, Mary (Brian) Rabideau, Paula (Craig) Smith, Leanne (Chris) Alford, 13 grandchildren; Hayley Kourofsky, Nisha (Matthew) Duquette, Erin (Bill) Light, Erik St. Louis, Adam Rabideau, Matthew Rabideau (Valarie Matott), Kasey McCormick (Travis Jackson), Ryan McCormick (Makayla), Tyler (Stefanie) LaPier, Zoey Smith (Tony Brady), Daniel Smith (Addie Karlbolm), Nathan Alford, Jack Alford, 4 great-grandchildren; Charleston and Flynn Duquette, Everleigh LaPier and Isla Mae Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday April 10, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday April 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church West Chazy.
Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Chazy.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, West Chazy. Agnes family wishes to thank her caregiver Nicole Light for all the support she gave her.
